Getting started with Tarsen
Tarsen is useful before you have designed a process. Create a workspace, put the work on a board, and let the first real week show you what needs to change.
Start with one real project
Create your account
Sign up and Tarsen creates a personal workspace with a starter project, so there is something to work with immediately.
Name the project after an outcome
Use a project for a launch, client engagement, product area, or personal goal. Avoid making a project for every small task.
Keep the lists familiar
Start with the workflow your team already understands. Add complexity only when the board shows you a real need for it.
Put the next actions on cards
Give cards an owner, priority, estimate, and due date when those details will change the decision about what to do next.
Bring existing work over
Coming from Trello? Export the board as JSON and use Workspace → Integrations → Import from Trello. Tarsen previews the lists, cards, labels, checklists, comments, and warnings before it creates a new project.
A CSV with a title column works too. It can include list, description, labels, priority, due date, and estimate. The same importer accepts a Tarsen CSV export, so a trial never has to become a trap.
Plan the day after the board is honest
Open Mission Mode and tell it how much time you actually have. It reads the work assigned to you, then ranks a short list using due dates, priority, estimates, staleness, and blocked state. Review the reasons, accept the plan, and regenerate when the day changes.
Mission Mode is deterministic and does not require an AI provider. AI can improve the wording of its explanation and power Ask Tarsen, but the core daily plan remains available with AI switched off.
Invite people when the shape is clear
- Use comments and mentions for decisions that belong with a card.
- Set project access deliberately: workspace-wide, private, or limited to named members.
- Use My Work, Inbox, search, filters, and saved views once one board is no longer enough.
- Export the workspace as JSON or cards as CSV whenever you need an archive or handoff.
